Wine & Dine in #DowntownSac

Gabby Fredericks

Wine is the perfect drink for any occasion—unwinding from a day at work, crying hysterically over a breakup, watching reality TV with friends, or celebrating a new accomplishment. Whatever your Riesling, here are some awesome spots in #DowntownSac for you to relax, eat, and sip!

Whired Wine

With a frequently updated wine list and a great selection of sharable appetizers, Whired Wine has something for everyone. It is a great spot for a date, a girls’ night, or an after-work detox. Feeling creative? They host Paint & Sip nights where you can let your creative juices flow while the ‘juice’ in your glass cheers you on. In one of their upcoming Paint & Sip nights, you can paint a picture of your pet!

Underground Tasting Room

Why leave town to go wine tasting? While you’re out discovering the Old Sacramento Waterfront, keep an eye out for the hidden Underground Tasting Room, located on the original street level. They provide an exceptional educational wine tasting experience and the ability to purchase directly from wineries. Underground Tasting Room also has a handful of specialty goods like their gourmet dips, sauces, and vinegar.

Vine+Grain

Vine+Grain is a new upscale wine+craft beer bar in DOCO. Excellent local wines, beers, and appetizers adorn their menu depending on the season. The fun, open atmosphere with flashy neon signs and comfy chairs by fire pits makes it a great place to hang out and people watch before a game or concert at the Golden 1 Center.

Bailarín Cellars

With several options of Sonoma County wine served in tasting flights, by the glass, or in bottles to take home, Bailarín is a must to wine and dine. They also have a patio, so you can experience all the energy of “The Kay” while chatting over a cheeseboard. Sure, there’s great wine and tasty food, but there’s also an espresso bar at Bailarín! Choose your vice—alcohol or caffeine?

Grange

Don’t want to sacrifice your meal for an amazing glass (or bottle) of wine? Make sure to stop by Grange at The Citizen Hotel! They not only offer an extensive wine list, but full breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert menus. Whether you are having lunch with a friend or a late-night dessert, you will never have to sacrifice your wine selection to subside your hunger. Grange offers nearly 20 different varieties by the glass and over 120 different types of wine by the bottle.

Firehouse

Looking for a wine list that is topping the charts? The Firehouse is a classic stop at the Old Sacramento Waterfront that unlike the rest. The Firehouse has won numerous national wine awards, including Wine Spectator’s coveted “Best of Award of Excellence” for 20 consecutive years and California Restaurant Association’s “Best California Wine List.” Aside from wine, they also have an amazing kitchen. Visit The Firehouse to extinguish the fire in your belly with wine and a full meal!

Fizz

Craving something a little different… maybe with a little more POP? Fizz is Sacramento’s only champagne and bubbles bar, specializing in sparkling wine sourced from all over the world and perfectly paired cheeses. With more than 150 different champagnes and sparkling wines by the bottle and another 20 by the glass, you won’t be bored. It’s bubbles… for adults.
