The Vintage Vandals 1
The Vintage Vandals

In one sentence, how would you describe your band’s musical sound?

The Vintage Vandals sound is a mix of kick-ass rockabilly and genuine bluegrass; stirred until lumpy and seasoned generously with good old-fashioned rock and roll and a pinch of outlaw country.

What’s the origin of your bands name?

If we told you that we’d have to kill you. But the cover story is the guitar player’s wife, Monica, came up with it. The style of the band is vintage, so it seemed to fit.

What food can you not live without on tour?

If we had to name only one, it would be pizza, ribs, fried chicken, pancakes, lasagna, steak, mashed potatoes, sushi, peanut m&ms, pot roast, Dr. Pepper, hamburgers, bacon, burritos, tacos, ice cream, ham, spaghetti, chocolate, hot dogs, French fries, diet Pepsi, Chinese food, waffles, roast turkey, Doritos, and good beer; lots and lots of good beer.

Whether I’m DJing or producing music I get inspiration from all types of genres. I could list a million different artists and styles, but really anything that gets my head nodding is what keeps me fired up!

What was the first album you ever bought?

My record collection is so large there is no way for me to remember my first album. If I had to guess I would say it would have to be something from the Motown collection.
