Treat yourself to a ‘loverly’ night in Downtown Sac

Kathryn DeGroot

You know it’s summer when show tunes fill the tented pavilion at 14th & H. Music Circus is back in all its glory with a dynamic lineup of shows that will cater to the very young, old and everyone in between. Kicking off the summer spectacular last night, My Fair Lady was nothing short of “loverly.”

I was excited to find out that My Fair Lady was part of the Music Circus season this year. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen the show as my high school performed this as one of their yearly musicals. I must say I fell in love with the show when I saw it awhile back, but let me tell you – the professionals last night killed it and were way better than my high school pals (sorry guys)! I guess some things are better left to the professionals.

The thing I love most about Music Circus is that there is no bad seat in the house. From the acting to the singing, there was never a dull moment throughout the show. “The Rain in Spain” is one of my favorite songs from any musical and – heck, it even helped bring rain to Sacramento!

This is a show you don’t want to miss and you’re in luck there are still tickets left! This show is perfect for a date night or girls’ night out – paired with a happy hour or dinner and you’ve got yourself an enticing evening out in Downtown Sac.
