The Vision for Cesar Chavez Plaza

Marlee Wallace

In June of 2023, CBS 13 visited Cesar Chavez Plaza and described the future of Cesar Chavez Park. These latest community amenities are made possible through the SMUD Shine grant program, with support from the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Ernesto Delgado Hospitality Group, we have built it and hope you will come! This Thursday is a great time to check out the park, see what’s new, and visit Bodega Days farmers market before it’s over.

Here’s what to expect!

New passive activations, including colorful tables and chairs, umbrellas, mobile outdoor reading cart, an “Imagination Playground” consisting of building blocks to encourage freeform play for young residents, and customized corn hole and table tennis sets, both unique and designed by local artists.

Pilates in the Park starts at 11:30a.m. and is on the corner of J & 9th. This is the last pilates day in the park this season, so go get your sweat on! We recommend bringing water and a yoga mat or towel with you.

After pilates, grab some lunch from our food truck vendors, this week is we have:
