Plan your Kings Kick Off

Marlee Wallace

We’re so excited for the return of Sacramento Kings basketball, it brings people and pride downtown! A night in the Golden 1 Center is fun in itself, but did you know there’s new bites in the building?

G1C knows we’re the Farm-to-Fork capital and are using it to their advantage. 90% of the culinary ingredients are from growers and producers operating within a 150-mile radius of Golden 1 Center with more than $7 million spent at local farmers and ranches including: Llano Seco, Richard’s Grass Fed Beef, Panorama Meats, Sun Fish, Allen Brothers & Mary’s Chicken, Next Generation Foods, Petaluma Creamery & Produce Express.

What to eat at G1C

We got to try some the new offerings for this season and we have a few recommendations!

At Smokehouse BBQ in section 201, they have a Kalua Pork Plate that’s worth a try. It has 24-hour cooked pork, Mac salad, Rue Forsman jasmine rice and an Ube Bun.

Also in section 201, Market Kitchen is serving a chicken and waffle skewer. The star of the show is the chicken, but the cube-shaped waffle is stellar!

In Section 210, Petra is serving up it’s classic gyro fries with feta crumbles!

G1C City Impact

With food, comes food waste and since Golden 1 Center opened, 71,345 pounds of food has been donated to the Sacramento Food Bank. The donations have generated 59,478 meals for those in need and resulted in 38,705 pounds of CO2 saved from the region’s landfills.

I hope you can try some of these new items and GO KINGS!
