Roots Coffee is the destination of all things caffeine if you are looking for that first cup of coffee to help the blood start pumping in the morning. The family-owned company started in 2017 with the intention of having one place for patrons to sit down and have a freshly roasted and handcrafted cup of coffee with fresh food to go along with it, all made with locally sourced ingredients. The Saleemi family is based in Sacramento and have made their mark on every inch of the stores walls all the way from the décor to the ingredients going into every single cup of coffee that is poured.
As a company, their goal is to “[bring] the community together with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality.”
When you walk into Roots Coffee don’t just expect to have a freshly brewed cup of coffee, they have everything you need to start your mornings off on the right foot (yes, that includes avocado toast!). Trust us…you have never had toast like this before, all of their toasts are made on thick- sliced challah and they have everything from Cinnamon Toast Crunch toast topped with almonds and sour cream frosting, Mushroom “Quiche” toast with mixed cheese and mache greens and their epic Avocado toast that looks nothing like any other you have seen on Instagram. Their version is made with lemon chevre, edamame salad, watermelon radish and micro herbs that blend together to make the best Avocado toast you have ever had.
If you are looking for a midday pick me up at lunchtime, try one of their freshly made salads or sandwiches that will satisfy all of your cravings and help you get through the rest of your workday. The Garden & Grains salad is perfect if you are looking to fill your plate with a bunch of color. The salad doesn’t just look pretty, it tastes good too! It is served with shaved raw vegetables, mixed grains, gravenstein cider dressing and orange segments. If you are in a sandwich mood try their turkey sandwich with buffalo mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes on dark wheat bread paired with a vegetable salad, trust us it will be your new go-to order at lunchtime!
You can’t finish your Roots Coffee experience until you have had one of their sweet treats. You haven’t had anything until you have tried their famous Chocolate Croiffle…which is exactly what it sounds like, a waffle and a croissant mixed together with caramelized chocolate that will make your taste buds explode with chocolaty goodness and make you think why you haven’t had this concoction sooner!?
