Movie nights are the best nights

Marlee Wallace

Last month we had the movie weekend of the year with the release of box office hits, Oppenheimer and Barbie! Movie-goers painted the town pink for a night out, seeing Barbie in theaters. Movie nights are the activity from childhood that never get old and somehow get better! Whether it be at a theater, sleepover, drive-in, or the side of a building, movie nights are so special. We have a few fun movie night opportunities coming up downtown that you’re going to want to add to your calendar!

Sacramento International Film Festival

SFF’s mission is to be a catalyst for greater appreciation of cinema as art, build the local filmmaking community, and work with Hollywood and independents alike to showcase Northern California as a dynamic place to shoot and screen movies.

They’re showing Gift of Fear, an all-Native thriller that tells the story of a young girl, who is hell-bent on solving the murder of her friend.

The festival features movie premieres, panels, and an awards ceremony all in Old Sac at the Railroad Museum. Click here to find the schedule and more info.
