Farm-to-Sip Berry Mojitos

Katie Almazan

With summer at our doorstep, we have our mind on cool and refreshing drinks that make city living feel like a tropical paradise. As the official Farm to Fork Capital, we are fortunate enough to have the Farmers’ Market at our fingertips with fresh fruits and veggies available every week. We figured we would take advantage of the local produce and create our own Berry Mojito made from farm-fresh strawberries and mint straight from our own Cesar Chavez market. Here’s what you will need to create your own summer cocktail so you too can simulate an island dream. Cheers!

Mojito Recipe:

1 ounce simple syrup

3 fresh strawberries

4-5 fresh spearmint sprigs

1 ounce lime juice

2 ounces light rum

3-4 ounces soda water

  1. In a chilled highball glass, muddle the simple syrup, strawberries and mint leaves together with the back of a spoon or muddler. Crush the strawberries and mint leaves well.
  2. Stir in the lime juice and rum. Fill the glass with ice and top off with soda water. Gently stir.
  3. Garnish with mint sprigs and strawberry slices.
