True to its delightfully sinful past, Old Sacramento plans to tempt its visitors once again during the deliciously fun 2nd Annual Old Sacramento Chocolate Week happening May 2-8. Indulgent and irresistible, guests will be able to meander through the historic district enjoying chocolate in oh-so-many ways…like cooked in brandy-cherry cocoa bites, mixed into Godiva Chocolate martinis or drizzled over rich and delicious mud pie, just to name a few.
Throughout the week, visitors will also be able to experience a variety of delicious and delectable chocolate-related activities such as a fun Choc-la-trivia contest on Monday night at Fat City; a special Chocolate Day at the Railroad & History museums on Tuesday; a Chocolate Pairing Night at Ten22 and Rio City Cafe on Wednesday night; a lively Chocolate Bar Hop on Thursday night at River City Saloon, Laughs Unlimited and Sports Corner Cafe; a Parent/Child Cupcake Decorating activity at Ana Apple on Thursday and an 8-Stop Choc-la-tour on Friday evening.
Then over the weekend, even more chocolate-y themed treats are in store such as History of Chocolate Lessons and Word Games (for kids) at the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum; Chocolate Turtle Demonstrations at Turtles, a Mother’s (and moms-to-be) Pampering event at Ana Apple; Tango and Chocolate fun at Tango By the River all happening on Saturday followed by another Parent/Child Cupcake Decorating activity at Ana Apple on Sunday for Mother’s Day.
Given even more delicious activities may be added, chocolate lovers are encouraged to visit the website for updates and/or to sign up in advance for the special tours. Note that many of the activities are available for drop-ins as well so plan a visit the historic district to treat yourself to some chocolate-y fun during Old Sacramento Chocolate Week.
