Adventure with Me at the Old Sacramento Waterfront

Jordan Alwood

Walking around Old Sacramento Waterfront and seeing all the unique shops is one of my favorite things to do in the summer.

First…wake up!

If you’re anything like me, you need coffee to function every morning. I need to start my day with a hot cup of coffee before I can even think about what I’m going to do for the day. I walked over to Blueprint Coffee and ordered an espresso and enjoyed the soft music. Then I took my cup of joe down to the water and had a very peaceful time enjoying all the nature.

Ok, now we need breakfast

At that point, I was pretty hungry and wanted a fresh breakfast. I was already by the water, so I figured– what better place for breakfast than the Delta King? I walked on over and climbed aboard the ship. I felt like royalty– I got to sit outside on the balcony and ate a Delta King Omelet. The eggs and smoked bacon were a fantastic pairing I enjoyed some herbed country potatoes on the side and was so full that I couldn’t get up.

Need to walk this off

I desperately needed to walk off all that I ate because I was just so full that I couldn’t breathe. The food was THAT good. It was impossible to stop eating every last crumb! I decided to walk down the cobblestone streets and visit some of my friends. I walked into Warehouse Creative, Old City Kites, and Visions of Eden – some of my favorite shops at Old Sacramento Waterfront.

I’m hungry again

Shocking? Knowing myself, I’d say no. All this walking and shopping has worked up my appetite, so I decide to stop for lunch at Brannon Manor. I’ve heard they have amazing burgers, and that was just what I was in the mood for.

Henna tattoos and happy hour

At this point, I’ve already had the best day. So why not keep it going and do something new? I’ve never gotten a henna tattoo, so I stopped by Anju’s Salon to get one and see what all the hype was about. Let me tell you – I was extremely happy with my choice to get one.

I was feeling adventurous after my henna tattoo, so I took a stroll to visit one of my favorite places for happy hour– Honey and the TrapCat. Turns out their happy hour is every weekday from 4-6 PM so I made it just in time. The Grasshopper and French 75 were two of my favorites. Click HERE to see what I ordered.

Ending the day right

After a long day of fun, I decided to end it by riding the Ferris wheel and watching the sunset. The sun setting over the historic buildings just hits different– it was truly magical. Anyways, thanks for reading about my adventure at the Old Sacramento Waterfront. I hope to see you there next time!
