It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Cocktails

Ho-ho-Prosecco! Gin-gle all the way! Let’s cut to the chase, this year has been rough… and we have just the thing to help take the edge off. Get into the holiday spirit with some cocktails from your favorite #DowntownSac restaurants. We have put together a recipe list so you can make some of these amazing cocktails at home. You can also order many of these to go at participating restaurants. So grab your shaker, all the garnishes and get ready to enjoy because we know yule love them. After all, fizz the season!

Capitol Garage

2:1 Red wine to brandy ratio

1 apple sliced

1 orange sliced

1 12oz bottle of ginger beer

1/2 cup fresh cranberries

1/4 cup Luxardo cherries

1/4 cup sugar

4 cinnamon sticks.

  1. Muddle cranberries & cherries.
  2. Pour all ingredients into bowl, and cover for 2-3 days in the refrigerator.
  3. Strain liquid into pitcher, discard fruit.

You may serve over ice with cinnamon stick garnish.

Master Tip: Pour into a crockpot on low setting and serve for a hot treat!

Hard Candy is named after the Dolly Parton holiday song, is a boozy, warming cocktail meant to be drank “up,” but with delightful holiday fruit sweetness and spices! 375 ml bottle, made to order in-house with Bourbon, pomegranate, spiced cranberry-orange cordial, Campari, Angostura Bitters.

This cocktail is available for order in a pint or full bottle!

Seelbach Cocktail

1 oz Knob Creek Rye Whiskey

½ oz Orange Liqueur

3 dashes each Angostura and Peychaud’s Butter

Top with bubbles of your choice!

Bartender tip: Stir all ingredients together first, then add champagne.

Cherry and Green Peppermint Chocolate Chip Martini

2 oz Double Chocolate Vodka

1 oz Mint Liqueur

1/2 oz Red Cherry Liqueur

To garnish: Peppermint marshmallows and mini chocolate chips

  1. First you’re going to decorate your glass!
    1. Dip in rim in simple syrup and then roll it in crushed candy canes
  2. Then combine the vodka and mint liqueur in a smaller shaker with ice and shake away!
  3. Strain into chilled glass, top with cherry liqueur, peppermint marshmallows and mini chocolate chips and enjoy!

Mariposa

1.5 oz Blanco Tequila

.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice

.75 oz pomegranate syrup*

2 dash angostura bitters

  1. Shake all ingredients and strain over ice in a Collins glass.
  2. Garnish with a lime wheel and maraschino cherry.

Pro tip: grab a bag of pebble ice at your nearest Sonic to really make this cocktail shine!

*Pomegranate Syrup:

Combine equal parts Pom Wonderful (or your pomegranate juice of choice) and sugar, mix until uniform and store in the fridge.
