The festival that’s bringing more than a dozen murals to Downtown and Midtown is in full swing and we can’t contain our excitement. This is a huge deal for Sacramento! Alleys, parking lots, and otherwise forgotten urban spaces are being transformed into larger-than-life works of art.
Spread across The Grid, here are three artists we were lucky enough to work with:
Jake Castro – The Crest Theatre Alley (1013 K Street)
Sacramento365 connected with Jake and other artists. Here’s a little background on each and a quote from Jake’s feature:
“The Sacramento community is continually expanding and I feel like I’m part of a supportive community. Co-op working spaces [e.g. The Urban Hive and Hacker Lab] really encourage collaboration and innovation among artists and makers…and this helps push us to work harder and think more creatively.”

Kristin Farr – Kaiser Building (5th & J)

Kristin has painted murals across the globe as far as the Philippines and even painted a stage at Outsidelands Music Festival in 2015.

Andrew Schoultz – The Elliot Building (1530 J St.)
“Andrew sources inspiration from 15th Century German map making and Indian miniature paintings, Andrew Schoultz’s frenetic imagery depicts an ephemeral history bound to repeat itself.”
