We’re taking a trip down memory lane to when the very first iconic sign was lit! This vibrant eye-catching LED sign has provided light and joy to the Downtown Sacramento community.
Because of the success and excitement of the sign, there is now a mini iconic sign located at the Old Sacramento Waterfront by the Delta King on the Embarcadero.
The waterfront’s resilient underpinnings are still the foundation of our local economy. So, when it came to supporting a new iconic sign for Old Sac, SMUD quickly hopped on board.
Here are a few words from our friends at SMUD:
Partnering with Sacramento businesses and organizations is central to who we are. We were excited to be a part of this project, which marks yet another chapter in our long-standing relationship with the Downtown Sacramento Partnership.
Another way we’re serving both our local businesses and residents is our work to eliminate all carbon emissions from our power supply by 2030.
In a city where our children are 22% more likely to have asthma than the average American kid and where we rank 6th in the nation for dirtiest air, carbon emissions are a critical local issue that must be addressed equitably.
Meanwhile, it’s bringing us great joy to see our community shining more brightly, thanks to the (LED) glow of our brilliant new landmark in Old Sacramento.
