Frankie Wenson

Get your selfie pose ready! The city’s newest Instagram-able hotspot just touched down in downtown!

In the past few years Sacramento’s art scene has skyrocketed. Wherever you go in #DowntownSac you will find yourself amerced in murals and art pieces that have become a part of Sacramento culture. It is hard not to appreciate all of the details, emotion and love that has been put behind each piece that has been created for locals to enjoy. The newest art installation to take the city by storm is Jorge Marín’s Wings of the City traveling sculptures that come from Mexico City and have been featured all around the world in places like Dubai, Madrid, and Singapore. Sacramento is the third city in California to feature the bronze statues that look like masked angles and acrobats balancing on spheres. Jorge Marín has been a contemporary artist for the last 25 years and has been using bronze for the last 10 years as his preferred material that is shown through this beautiful art pieces all around the city. The interactive art pieces will be available for everyone to enjoy through November 2019. Make sure the next time you are in #DowntownSac you stop by one of these incredible pieces and snap a photo using the hashtags #jorgemarín #alasdeméxico #wingsofméxico!
