For a family friendly activity, or the perfect romantic date – catch the last performances of Theatre of Lights this season. The 25 minute light and sound extravaganza occurs on the balconies of K Street as the history of Sacramento and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ are brought to life. Shows are at 7:00 and 8:30 and are the perfect ending to the holiday season.

In between shows, or if you’re all Christmas-ed out, you can catch live music, magicians and 3D gaming trucks along Front Street as you start planning all those new years’ resolutions! At 9pm and midnight you can watch the best fireworks in town – Sky Spectacular. Produced by the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau, this dynamic fireworks show is synced to some of 2015s biggest musical hits. Old Sac provides the best views along the boardwalk as the sky concert lights up the night sky to celebrate the end of an amazing year.

As the little ones head off to bed to dream their way into the New Year, the adult crowd can celebrate in style at one of Old Sacramento’s many bars and restaurants. Visit a tried-and-true favorite, or explore a new location, you’ll find drink specials and music galore to dance the night away!

Looking for a place to stay the night after you’ve had your fun? Check out the Holiday Inn Sacramento – Capitol Plaza on J street, just a short walk from Old Sacramento.

Please note that the district will be closed to vehicle traffic throughout the evening and Tower Bridge will be closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic for 30 minutes leading up to and after each of the two firework shows.
