Downtown Biz Spotlight: Nine 2 Won

Danielle Koire

With food made from scratch with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a one-of-a-kind bar, Nine 2 Won is a hidden gem in the historic Elks Tower building.

As soon as you walk in, you notice the inner walls of the restaurant are partially glass, with a view of the soon-to-be card room that will also be located within Elks Tower.

The shelving behind the bar runs from ceiling to floor and is backlit blue, instantly creating a luxurious feel to the space.

In addition to the fine dining ambiance, their food is delicious! We were treated to an assortment of their signature sandwiches, from a sweet and savory bánh mì to a hearty reuben. We indulged in the BLTA, enjoying the Applewood smoked bacon, Bibb lettuce, avocado, and juicy tomato on sliced sourdough.

Our favorites were the French dip, with flat iron steak, gruyere, carmelized onion, and horseradish, and the Blacken Chicken, filled with white Irish cheddar, pasilla peppers, jalapeño mayo, and onion.

Nine 2 Won also has a happy hour on weekdays from 2-6pm. Grab a handcrafted cocktail and split a gourmet pizza with friends! We suggest the Sicilian pizza, complete with artisan pepperoni, house sausage, mushrooms, red bell pepper, and black olives, or the Grilled Chicken, topped with parmesan cream, applewood bacon, jalapeño, mozzarella, and fresh tomato.

Whether you’re looking for a new lunch spot or nice dinner for a night out on the town, Nine 2 Won has you covered.
