Darling Aviary is your new go-to spot to enjoy an amazing #DowntownSac rooftop view while you sip and dine to your heart’s content. Their rooftop overlooks some of the most iconic places in the heart of our city, including Golden 1 Center, DOCO, K Street and if you are standing in the right spot you can even see the bright lights coming from the top of the Crest Theatre. They are open Thursday – Sunday 5 p.m. – midnight and are taking reservations now. Once you have your reservation, you are ready to flock on over to K Street. Upon arrival, you will be greeted through the gorgeous stained glass doors. As you walk in, you can see the main bar to your left with different colored lights illuminating the walls and a giant life-sized gold birdcage towards the back of the bar with beautiful rose details that will eventually have a DJ playing live music while people enjoy their drinks. For now, they are only using their open space, rooftop patio to keep distance between tables, making your stay, safe and enjoyable.
Once you are seated, you can admire all the color, uniqueness of the décor, accents and the egg-sighting views. But wait! Before you take out your phones to capture the most Instagrammable photo to make all of your friends envious, make sure to check out their menu that has the most decadent cocktails. We recommend the Grapefruit Paloma with Hornitos Plata Tequila made with ruby red grapefruit, citrus, a splash of Jarritos Mandarin and of course tequila! Another unique favorite is the Smoked Peach Old Fashioned with Maker’s Mark Bourbon that is perfect to warm you up during the upcoming winter months.
Next up is the amazing bites! We can’t stop raven about the mouth-watering burgers. Trust us when we say, you might as well order them all. Our favorite is the Bushtit, a delectable burger with crispy prosciutto, onion confit and brie… say no more. We highly recommend adding the Nest Fries as well.
