New Biz Spotlight: Bennigan’s

Carly Quellman

St. Patty’s Day may be a while away, but as luck would have it, a new restaurant has popped up on the corner of 10th and K Streets. Bright green signage across the front of the building reads “Bennigan’s,” replacing what once was Café Bernardo and K-Bar. As a company that explores the qualities of an Irish tavern, the addition of Bennigan’s to the downtown atmosphere is similar to stumbling upon a pot of gold.

Bennigan’s focus is to serve “American Fare with Irish Hospitality” as a high-energy destination for the Sacramento community. Their menu focuses on integrating locally sourced ingredients into a plethora of entrees, desserts and drinks. The open, inviting space is a convenient spot for downtown lunch-goers and business gatherings, which includes a separate dining room in the back of the restaurant for large groups and events.

Foodies everywhere will be glad to hear that Bennigan’s is open seven days a week and offers a brunch menu on the weekends. If you’re a late-night muncher or someone who enjoys nightlife, Bennigan’s extends their welcome until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

On a tight budget with only a few  hours to spare? Bennigan’s offers happy hour every day from 3-7 p.m. You can try current offerings such as an ‘Autumn Sangria,’ one of the drink options from their seasonal Limited Time Tastes. The aesthetically pleasing drink is a mix of white Zinfandel wine, Vodka and Fireball topped with orange Red Bull and peach puree, served fittingly in a mason jar. This tasty concoction, along with the rest of their signature cocktails, is conveniently priced at $8 during happy hour.

Whether you’re spending a couple hours catching up with friends or are planning on dining after work, Bennigan’s is a go-to spot to satisfy your taste palate. Stop by and welcome Bennigan’s to downtown!

We recommend the ‘YOLO Monte Cristo Burger’ paired with the Autumn Sangria – a half pound beef patty topped with melted raspberry cream cheese and bacon, surrounded by a gently fried Brioche bun – because, well, you only live once! These seasonal options are not on the menu for long, so make sure you try them as soon as possible.
