National Do Something Nice Day!

Carly Quellman

In a world where everything seems to cost money, why not celebrate something that is both simple and free – kindness! #NationalDoSomethingNiceDay is October 5, and in honor of Thursday’s feel-good holiday, we are continuing our Sac Love Notes campaign with handing out compliments! Following the success of Sac Love Notes, which highlighted the things we love about downtown, National Do Something Nice Day will focus on the things we love about the PEOPLE of downtown.

What: Come grab a compliment and make one for your co-workers, friends, and significant other! Let them know how much they mean to you! We will have cards and lollipops for you to make your own sweet message to make someone’s day.

Where: St. Rose of Lima Park (7th and K Streets)

When: Thursday, October 5th from 12 – 1 p.m.

In actuality, you don’t need a national day to be nice, but it would be amazing to say that the world ran on kindness (and coffee). In a busy world, it’s very easy to be swept up in daily routine, which is why doing something nice for one another is very important for our health, community and well-being. #NationalDoSomethingNiceDay gives us all a reminder of the impact we have on the world. Whether it’s telling a funny joke or sharing your favorite food at dinner, little acts of compassion never go unnoticed. After all, as the saying goes, “The best things in life are free!”
