How did your band form?
The GCs formed out of the love of music by mutual friends & hasn’t been able to be killed off ever since.
In one sentence, how would you describe your band’s musical sound?
If the Allman Bros. walked into Merle Haggard’s birthday party.
What is your favorite music venue in Downtown Sacramento?
Torch Club & Shady Lady – both spots have been excellent to the GCs over the years.

What’s the origin of your bands name?
12 year old graffiti from Humboldt State University Womens’ Bathrooms
How did your band form?
SOMETIMES. You just have to form a band…. as a vehicle for songwriter Dean Haakenson’s songs
What food can you not live without on tour?
We know it’s not food, but we’re a Lagunitas IPA and American Spirit Yellow type of band

Ashley Barron
What is your musical inspiration?
I grew up listening to 90’s country, as in; Martina McBride, Garth Brookes, and Tim McGraw. Yet I also have a lot of influence from listening to my dad’s favorite rock n’ roll bands, like; The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Doobie Brothers.
What are you looking forward to at Concerts in the Park?
I’m looking forward to playing outdoors to a hometown audience in a great park setting.

In one sentence, how would you describe your band’s musical sound?
As a student of country, I think I’ll always keep learning and expanding. Anything that puts people in a good mood really.
Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?
I’m the house DJ at Goldfield Trading Post, and while I’m not a signed DJ, Artery Records here in Sacramento has always been a friend that has helped me grow.
What is your favorite part of downtown Sacramento?
I love the community of Sacramento, we have amazing access to such an incredible array of amazing bars and restaurants with chefs and bartenders that are amazingly passionate about their craft. As a born and raised Nevadan, I’m constantly amazed by the sheer attention to detail and determination of the service industry as a whole to never stop pushing the envelope.
