River City Marketplace returns to Fremont Park on Second Saturday, October 8th from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.! Join over 100 of the Sacramento region’s most talented makers and fine artists in a small business showcase.

Inspired by the unique, thriving markets in New Orleans, Washington, DC and New York, RCMP Founder Mindy Jovanovic built the event in Spring 2015 with the vision of giving artists an accessible platform to share their work with the community and develop their brands while contributing to the creative character of their city.

This free event will feature handmade products from across the mediums. Look for jewelry & apparel for all personal styles, incredible original art & photography, finely-crafted woodwork, enriching bath & body goods, whimsical children’s gifts, fashion trucks, and much more. For those on the hunt for things truly unique, check out the large-scale wooden games, rare vintage finds, abalone jewelry and hand-carved rubber stamps.

rcmp-event-imageAlong with perusing the vast marketplace, make a fun afternoon of it with family-friendly elements to round out the event, such as a hair braid bar from Federico Beauty Institute and live entertainment from local groups Yellow Dot Music and College Fund Street Band. Enjoy delicious cuisine from local food trucks and small batch food creators bringing you delights from Italian ice to sea salt caramels.

For the little ones, entertain them with the updated Fremont Park playground and hands-on art projects sponsored by The Greenhouse studio!

This event is made possible with the help of Sacramento Natural Foods Co-Op, NevMade, Foxes and Robbers, Make/Do Sacramento, Bacon Bibs, Figs and Feathers Farm, and Rowdy Penguin!
