Farmers’ Market Finds

Katie Almazan

It’s no secret that our downtown Farmers’ Markets offers the best farm-fresh produce. And while fruits and veggies are staples here, the market offers even more goods than leafy greens and sweet reds. Peruse the park and you’ll stumble upon a wide variety of vendors that make your trip a one-stop shop and will surely have you coming back week after week. Here are just a few of our favorite finds!

Flowers: Choose from a wide variety of stunning florals to arrange your own bouquet or select a predesigned one that’s ready for the taking.

Handmade preserves: From homemade jams to raw local honey, you can score some tasty jarred treats from Smit Farms.

Dried fruit: Fruit dried by the farmer himself! These sulfate-free goodies make for a delicious snack that’s easy to grab and go.

Bulk nuts: Save money and create your own trail mix from Artois Nut Ranch. They have a great selection and even better prices.

Lavender: The fragrant aroma of El Dorado Lavender’s booth will surely lure you in. Their gorgeous variety pacts include an oil, sprays, and dried lavender. These make an excellent gift as well!

Kombucha: Treat your taste buds to a refreshing ZEAL Kombucha as you walk around the market. With flavors like peach, lychee sage, or vanilla pine, this probiotic drink makes health taste mighty good.

Tacos: Did you know you can grab lunch at the market? Just one of our amazing food vendors we have is Masa Tacos. Their handmade tortillas are made to order right before your eyes. Wrap up the afternoon with their trio taco plate and you won’t regret it.

A trip to the market and you can score flowers for mom, fresh produce for dinner, dried fruit for snacks, and head back with a full belly and kombucha to savor on the road. Now that’s what we call a productive afternoon!
