Concerts in the Park Is Back

Katie Almazan

Your Fridays are about to get a whole lot cooler.

Sacramento’s favorite music festival is back and better than ever. No, really. Not only does our lineup have everyone buzzing, but we are taking #CIPSAC one step further this year. From booking top national touring acts, to local artists who are gaining national recognition, we’re drawing in some serious talent. Whether you’re into American music, prefer to mosh it out with a punk band or maybe throw it back with some hip hop from Del the Funky Homosapien, there will be something for everyone.

If dancing is more up your alley, in between sets we will have Sacramento’s top DJs spinning hit after hit. Oh, but that isn’t it! Each Friday there will be games like bucket ball and giant Jenga so you can grab a drink and be a kid again. Heck, you can even bring your kids! We’re also launching themed nights like Neon Night and Art Night, as well as unique activations that you will be itching to grab your phone to capture or anxious to grab a friend to be a part of. You will also want to be sure to make a stop at our #DowntownSac tent where a selfie backdrop will be hanging so you can show off your FOMO-inducing night with friends!

As if all that wasn’t enough, CIP festival-goers will have an opportunity on certain event nights to make their own bracelets, succulent pots and…well, we can’t give too much away, but trust us when we say every CIP night will warrant bragging rights! Don’t forget to come on an empty stomach so you can score some drool-worthy bites from our favorite food trucks or get those drinks flowing from Bud Light and Bogle.

If crowds have you staying behind, we are launching our first-ever Backstage VIP Package presented by Live Nation, where you can do CIP as a VIP and score the best view in the park with a complimentary craft beer or wine. Make sure to get tickets before they sell out!

With Concerts in the Park being the most talked about Sacramento music festival for 26 years and counting, this year we are making it more than just a concert; it’s a whole experience that welcomes all ages and walks of life – a chance to gather and celebrate music and good vibes. Get your festival outfits ready and enjoy free live music every Friday night, with after-party locations to keep the fun going. You can now put the task of ‘what to do’ on a Friday night to rest – you can thank us later. See you at the stage!

We want to see how you do festivals, so snap photos, hashtag #CIPSAC and tag @downtownsac so we can follow along! The 2017 season of Concerts in the Park runs May 5-July 21 from 5-9pm in Cesar Chavez Plaza.
