Celebrate July 4th with us!

Jordan Alwood

Independence Day isn’t the only day you can celebrate this weekend.

If you’re scrambling for 4th of July plans this year, or want to get hyped for the big day, we’ve got some great suggestions!

All weekend: Rivercats fireworks

Our neighbors at Sutter Health Park are hosting the Rivercats baseball team this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night with fireworks included after each game that can be seen from the Old Sacramento Waterfront. Purchase tickets online or watch from afar while you visit the Waterfront on our side of the river.

PS: Sutter Health Park will be hosting a private, invite-only fireworks show this year.

Saturday: Boat parade

Enjoy this free boat parade on Saturday! The parade will be coming through the Old Sacramento Waterfront around 1:30 PM and turning around at the Virgin Sturgeon. Join us to celebrate the 4th of July weekend and watch along both sides of the Sacramento River.

Saturday: Fourth of July Picnic & Croquet Match

Join Sacramento Living History as they demonstrate an 1860s Independence Day celebration with historic displays of patriotism and activities and contests for public participation. Watch a rousing game of croquet, a parade through town, songs, and speeches, and a picnic on July 2nd from 10 AM – 2 PM. Click here for more information.

Monday: Cruises, cruises, and more cruises!

If you’ve never been on a cruise, this is your chance! The Hornblower is throwing a few 4th of July cruises that are guaranteed to be tons of fun. If you’re interested in bringing the whole family, the Fourth of July River Cruise is the best choice for you.

If you’re interested in small bites and drinks, the Fourth of July Sights & Sips Cruise is awesome.

The Fourth of July Alive After Five Cruise is also a similar cruise to the last one we mentioned. However, this cruise is perfect for all you cocktail lovers.

If you’re looking for a late-night cruise to see the fireworks, the Fourth of July Rock the Yacht Fireworks Cruise is the best choice. If you have the time and energy, we advise you to try as many cruises as you can and enjoy the entire day with good food and friends on the river.

Monday: BBQ on The Delta King

Celebrate what’s most important

No matter how you celebrate, we just want to encourage you to stay safe, and have fun! Enjoy time with friends, family, or your pets, and watch some fireworks as we reflect on the day America gained independence.
