This 4th of July, there are tons of activities and events that’ll get you out to celebrate, but there’s no better place to celebrate than at the Old Sacramento Waterfront! We’ve compiled some of the poppin’ spots you can best enjoy the Sutter Health Park fireworks show and how you can extend your Old Sacramento Waterfront Independence Day experience.
See the Sky Light Up!
Sutter Health Park’s 4th of July celebration returns this year as the “Fourth on the Field Remix” featuring the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera and an awe-inspiring firework show, presented by Xfinity. A family-friendly performance will begin shortly after 8 PM and the Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza will begin at 9:30 PM and will be viewable from the Old Sacramento Waterfront.
Watch the firework show like royalty! The Delta King is hosting a 4th of July celebration on the waterfront. You can purchase tickets at the door, $15 for Adults and $5 for 12 and under. Tickets include one cocktail, beer, or wine for adults or one soda for kids. Classic BBQ eats will be available for purchase. The Delta King has an unobstructed view of the firework show happening at Sutter Health Park that is unique to Old Sacramento Waterfront
Catch a ride on the Waterfront Wheel. Watch the fireworks light up the sky atop the Ferris wheel for one of the best seats in the house! The cost to ride the Waterfront Wheel or Front Street Carousel is $6 per rider and you can catch a ride all weekend long from 12 PM to 10 PM.
Interested in exploring the Sacramento River? Catch a ride on City Cruise! Order a drink at their full bar on board available for purchase while enjoying the scenic Sacramento River views on this one-and-a-half-hour excursion.
Red, White, and Booze
Beat the heat by grabbing an ice-cold cocktail! While you’re waiting for the fireworks show to start, enjoy a customized drink at Honey and the Trap Cat. Their skilled bartenders can create a patriotic drink just for you from their menu-less cocktail bar. If you’re stopping by after the fireworks, be sure to try out their late-night eats including nacho fries and baked mac being served until 2 AM.
Fanny Ann’s Saloon is one of Old Sacramento’s best-kept secrets. From its eclectic décor and classic cocktails, it has become a staple to visit. Grab a pound of wings with an ice-cold beer to help cool off before the firework show.
