Why leave town to wine taste? Skip the expensive cab ride and experience the secluded wine tasting room in Old Sacramento next time you’re by the waterfront! Keep an eye out for the hidden Underground Tasting Room, open Wednesday through Sunday at 11 a.m., for an inexpensive, yet charming wine tasting. If you like what you try, they offer bottles for purchase, as well as a handful of specialty goods like their gourmet dips, sauces and vinegars.

Grange

Don’t want to sacrifice your meal for an amazing glass (or bottle) of wine? Make sure to stop by Grange at The Citizen Hotel! They offer not only an extensive wine list, but they are definitely not skimping in the kitchen, either. They offer a full breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert menu. So, whether you are having lunch with a friend or a late-night dessert, you will never have to sacrifice your wine selection to subside your hunger. Grange offers nearly 20 different varietals by the glass, and over 120 different types of wine by the bottle. No matter the occasion, they have the wine to make your meal amazing.

Firehouse

Looking for a wine list that is topping the charts? The Firehouse is a hidden gem in Old Sacramento that is not quite like the rest. The Firehouse has won numerous national wine awards, including Wine Spectator’s coveted “Best of Award of Excellence” for 17 consecutive years and California Restaurant Association’s “Best California Wine List.” They offer a full kitchen with special menus such as Chef’s Tasting Menu for bites to eat, but also an exquisite line up of wine lists. Ranging from Wine Bucket List, Amazing Wines Under 100, Farm-To-Glass and Wines of the World, The Firehouse will provide the wine you didn’t know you were missing. Pair your favorite wine with their artisanal cheese board of the chef’s selections of four cheeses as the perfect finish to any evening.

Downtown & Vine

At Downtown & Vine, you can sip vino and snack on small bites (we suggest the Cheese Duo – with artisan cheeses, fresh and preserved fruits, nuts, honey and baguette) while relaxing into the evening on their patio. The selection of sharable plates and flatbreads are crafted to complement the flavors and aromas of your wine for you to indulge and unwind.

Fizz

Craving something a little different… maybe with a little more POP? Coming soon in September to Downtown Commons is Fizz, Sacramento’s only champagne and bubbles bar, specializing in sparkling wine and perfectly paired cheeses fizz. It’s bubbles… for adults.

Juicing is a health trend, right? Well, grab a friend and check out one of these places where you can grab a glass of perfectly aged grape “juice”!
