Ubridled, The Horse at Liberty

Inspired by the majestic beauty of horses, Mary Aiu has traveled the world for the last ten years to photograph various breeds. Seeking any opportunity to photograph horses, she especially looks to capture moments where they are unbridled and able to run about freely, allowing each to display their unique flair. Striking movements of agility and grace, but most of all, their joyful engagement to be free are captivating, leaving Mary feeling as though she was watching dancers, with the arena becoming their stage. Then with the aid of the computer, she transports these horses to a stage of her creation, and blending the imagery with the imagination inspired by their being, she sets them free once again. Through captured moments and photomontages, the artistic intent is to showcase equine splendor and the free spirit of the horse at liberty.
